Management Team

John Malabre John Malabre – John joined REDCOM in 2011 and commenced New York City operations for REDCOM Design & Construction, and currently maintains offices in Floral Park, NY and Manhattan. In 2014, REDCOM CM was formed. John’s work experience and skill sets are perfectly suited for REDCOM CM to enter the Construction Management/Owner’s Representation market. John is responsible for all work east of the Hudson River for both REDCOM Design & Construction and REDCOM CM.
 
Since he has worked in the NYC construction industry for over 30 years, John has gained experience in the toughest construction market in the world. He has acquired the skills to ensure that the client’s interests are protected throughout the entire construction life cycle, from design through to completion and final acceptance, on multiple substantial projects simultaneously. The New York offices of the REDCOM family currently have several projects under contract exceeding $20M and have a total value approaching $150M.
 
He has in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with commercial, very high-end residential and historic preservation work, which provides the solid foundation of understanding necessary to be able to prepare estimates, project schedules, and bid documents. John has overseen all aspects of a construction project in a hands-on fashion, from initial concept through pre-construction, mock-ups, retention of consultants, selection of contractors, and oversight of onsite progress, including turn-over to end users.
 
John’s creative problem solving abilities ensure that when an issue arises, the solution to the problem is developed and implemented in a timely manner, so as to minimize the impact to the schedule and finances of the client.
 
Extell Development & 995 Fifth CM Inc.
Retained by Extell Development to be the construction manager, to convert The Stanhope Hotel (995 Fifth Avenue, NYC), into twenty-six story, very exclusive high-end residential condominium, with units ranging from 4,200 to 9,000 SF.
 
JMI, Director of Construction
A general contracting firm loc
ated in New York City; completed projects include historic preservation, commercial multi-media entertainment venue, and high-end residential gut renovations in both free-standing and multiple dwelling units. At its peak, JMI had over 80 employees, with multiple project managers and a fully-staffed back office.
 
Turner Construction
EF Hutton project (31 West 52nd St.), Citicorp at Court Square project in Long Island City, Lipstick Building curtain wall implementation, pre-construction work for 450 Lexington Avenue Project, and mock-ups for the NYC Museum of Television & Radio project.

Dave Sandifer Dave Sandifer – Dave is a highly skilled project manager with a successful record of overseeing all phases of multi-million dollar, high profile commercial and retail developments in New York City and Philadelphia. His technical aptitude for engineering and software provides a depth of expertise required for design reviews as well as technical and technology-based issues. Key projects include the following:
 
Manhattan Lexus-Toyota, 662 12th Avenue, $75 Million
The project consisted of a 3-story 200,000 SF addition to 2-story Fed Ex facility and new 38,000 SF building. Responsible for pre-construction coordination of design team and advised owner of critical schedule and cost issues, bidding and qualification of subcontractors, implementation of Procore Project Management software, scheduling in Primavera P6, logistics, programming, design review and coordination.
 
New Condo Project, Gold Street, $50 Million
The project required an addition of 25 stories to existing 4-story buildings. Responsible for pre-construction coordination of design team, programming, design review, coordination and review of feasibility of construction in conjunction with existing buildings.
 
Club Quarters Hotel, 451 Lexington Avenue, $40 Million
This was a ground-up project. Managed the General Contractor for schedule, budget, and quality control. Coordinated resolution of design conflicts, owner items, reviewed and assisted with establishing contract with General Contractor; administer contract. Also coordinated with city agencies (MTA, Con Ed., DOB, DOT, DEP, FDNY) and provided LEED administration.
 
The Jewel Hotel, 11 West 51st Street, $30 Million
With this ground-up project, bought out trades, administered contracts & cost control, coordinated MEP design in this extremely tight building, provided LEED administration, prepared monthly executive summaries, and reviewed project cost and schedule with client each week.
 
Trump Philadelphia, $80 Million
Provided pre-construction services. Participated in pre-construction meetings and coordination of design. Advised owner of project progress and reviewed the budget. As this project required approval of Riparian Rights in order to obtain project approval, responsibilities also included coordination of PA government liaison, lawyers, Army Corps of Engineers, and DEP.
 
Cedar Street Hotel, $40 Million
Project consisted of adding 12 stories to existing 14-story building, including post-9/11 abatement. Assisted with LEED administration. Worked closely with the chief estimator and project manager to provide support where needed.

President

Gregory J. Redington, P.E. & P.P Gregory J. Redington, P.E. & P.P – Greg is the President of REDCOM. He has 25 years of experience in the Design Build industry. Greg has been at REDCOM since 1982. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with concentration on structures with a minor in architecture. Greg lives in Westfield, N.J., with his lovely wife and 3 children. Outside of work, Greg enjoys family activities, coaching, playing lacrosse, surfing, water activities, and traveling. greg@redcomllc.com
